Parents: Interruptions in the Classroom

Interruptions in the Classroom
As a teacher, nothing is more frustrating than having to stop teaching, tune into the intercom or phone call from the office, and then, bring the class back to the lesson. Five minutes here and five minutes there and the next thing you know, you have lost valuable teaching time.
Teachers and office staff understand the importance of being flexible, but at the same time, disruptions can hinder a teacher from doing his or her job and keeping the students’ focused.
We have addressed this issue several times. Therefore, if something is brought to school after 8:00 AM we can no longer accept it.  This includes sports uniforms, homework or anything else that is left behind.  A teacher would never ask a child to call or text you for forgotten items. The cell phones make it too easy. Your child needs to be responsible and we would appreciate your cooperation in helping them to learn this valuable lesson.
