-According to the National Ice Center, B15 was the largest iceberg in history, measuring 23 miles by 182 miles.  That’s nearly twice the size of Deleware.

-If melted, the B15 iceberg could fill Lake Michigan

Baseball/Laws of Physics-8th grade

I thought this was appropriate for my 8th grade class.  We are studying the laws of physics and Dodgers made the playoffs. GOOOOO DODGERS!!!!  Science is everywhere (so is MATH). 

Math Trick!

Problem:  ANY LARGE NUMBER TIMES 5-

This works EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ex.

5 times 6554 =

divide 6554 in half

3277 since it is a whole number just add a zero 32,770=5 times 6554

Let’s say you do not have a whole number-

5 times 5443

divide 5443 in half

2721.5 get rid of the decimal 5 times 5443 = 27,215 

This works every time! Math is magical!!!!!!!!! TRY IT! Better try it on an adult!
